Vehicle Strikes 3 Students Outside High School in France

The injured were Chinese students, including two who were seriously hurt in the incident.

A vehicle has "deliberately" mowed down terrified pedestrians after mounting a pavement near a high school in north west France - leaving at least three injured.

The driver, a man, was arrested.

Officials confirmed the 28-year-old suspect was not on the terrorism watch list, but had been planning the attack for quite some time.

According to reports the driver has a history of mental illness including acute schizophrenia.

The driver attempted to drive off but was stopped by police and arrested straight away.

At least three people were injured on Friday after a vehicle was deliberately rammed into a group of students in Toulouse in southern France.

Police say the man is known for previous minor offences, notably drugs-related.

Paul, a communications student at IGS Campus, told La Depeche: "I was in class and I heard sirens".
