Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions: score updates

Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions: score updates

It's the fourth defensive score this season for the Lions, seventh fumble recovery this season for the Lions, and first fumble recovery returned for a touchdown for the Lions since October 2015 (36 games).

The Cleveland Browns gave themselves a shot at their first win Sunday against the Detroit Lions - perhaps their best shot of the season except for going to overtime against Tennessee.

Kizer was stuffed at the line, and time expired before the Browns could stop the clock or attempt another play. The interception was his first.

Lions defensive back Nevin Lawson stripped the Browns ball carrier, broke a tackle and took it all the way back for a touchdown, making it 17-10 Lions in the second quarter. DeShone Kizer opened with a 38-yard completion to receiver Sammie Coates up the far sideline to set up a first-and-goal.

Matt Prater kicked a 46-yard field goal before Abdullah's 8-yard scoring run capped a 90-yard drive to tie it. Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson ran well.

It all proved too much to overcome when facing Matthew Stafford and a Detroit team that is on the cusp of the playoff hunt, as the 38-24 final indicates. Emmanuel Ogbah had two sacks.

Kenny Britt doubled his touchdown total for the season with a nice catch-and-run on a 19-yard pass.

Myles Garrett continues to make things happen when he is on the field.

Down Goes Kizer - Kizer got leveled by Lions cornerback Quadre Diggs in the ribs with 6 seconds left in the third quarter and had to be walked off with trainers.

The Browns had a second-and-10 when Kizer flared a pass to tight end Seth DeValve in the right flat for a nine-yard gain.

"I thought DeShone played probably the best game he's played", Jackson said, per Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com.
