While terming the 27 October as black day and the day of mourning for the Kashmiris, Joint resistance leaders comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik called for complete shutdown on Friday October 27, 2017.

He said worst form of state terrorism is being perpetrated against the defenseless Kashmiris and entire Indian state machinery is involved in the crimes against humanity.

Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK President Faheem Kiyani vowed to expose Indian forces' human rights violations in the valley across the Europe and other western countries.

In a message on the day she said we should remember that every day under occupation is a black day for the Kashmiri people.

In their separate messages on the day, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi reiterated Pakistan's unflinching and steadfast moral, diplomatic and political support for just cause of the Kashmiri people.

Kashmir remains unresolved dispute on United Nations agenda for the longest period and as a matter of fact is a black spot on the world body which somehow has not been able to implement its own resolutions and miserably failed to force India to grant the Kashmiris their fundamental right of self-determination in accordance with its own solemn commitments made decades back.
