Bengaluru building collapse: 3 dead, many feared trapped under debris

At least six people lost their lives when four houses collapsed partially in the Ejipura Area due to a cylinder blast, as per an ANI tweet. Her parents died in the tragic incident and the government has announced to adopt her and will take care of all her expenses.

Rescue operations are on with a number of people feared trapped in the rubble.

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy also visited the spot and said that cylinders on both the ground and first floor of the building had no gas in them and could have been the cause of collapse. However, the Karnataka Home Minister has negated the assumption of cylinder blast behind the building collapse.

Rescue personnel pulled out three people from under the debris and rushed them to nearby hospitals. Her parents are among those who died in the building collapse.

The Fire Department was alerted around 6.45am when a 50-year-old woman was leaving for work and she heard an explosion.

Almost 40 fire services personnel are carrying out the rescue operations. "So it is unlikely that the buildings collapsed due to blast", Reddy later added.
