Thomas Lemar : France hero happy staying put at Monaco

Now, various outlets are reporting that the Gunners have made a club-record £90 million offer for Lemar, potentially as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Lemar's Monaco have started their Ligue 1 title defence in ideal fashion, winning all four of their opening games, scoring 14 goals in the process. "I was focused on my match, that was all that mattered for me", added the winger who still has three years to run on his contract at the Stade Louis II.

However, with Oxlade-Chamberlain gone and Sanchez possibly set to follow, Wenger is now looking to splash the cash to maintain Arsenal's hopes of a return to the Champions League.

Punters think the Gunners will move again for the Monaco winger if they sell their wantaway star player to Man City.

The Brazilian defender said that despite all the praise and attention Monaco teammate Mbappe receives, it is Lemar who is his side's real asset.
