Europa League: Iwobi In Action As Sanchez Fires Arsenal Past Cologne

Arsenal will begin their Europa League adventure at home to FC Koln, as they seek to take early control of Group H. Never in a million years did Arsenal fans think they'd be playing Europa League football this season.

Kick-off was delayed by an hour as ticketless away supporters attempted to enter the ground, with plenty of Cologne fans sat in among the home section when the tie finally got under way, with the Gunners eventually winning 3-1.

"It was all kind of speculation that we had to analyse".

Some Arsenal fans called for the Cologne supporters to be moved to designated away areas but stewards made a decision to leave them where they were, with a club spokesman telling Britain's Press Association: "The players were relaxed and preparing for the game despite the delay".

The game was delayed by an hour due to crowd trouble outside the Emirates Stadium.

Only 3,000 tickets are available to away supporters but that has not stopped many more making the journey from western Germany.

Arsenal fans were accused of flogging their matchday tickets to the Cologne supporters.

They went into the break with boos ringing around the stadium and trailing 1-0 following a wonder goal from Jhon Cordoba.

"Arsenal have lost their last five at Stamford Bridge in the PL although they did beat the champions in both the FA Cup Final and Community Shield, albeit on penalties, in recent months", Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

Cologne coach Peter Stoger refused to be questioned on the actions of the club's supporters: "I have no comment about the fans", he said.

"I'm a big fan of Fabregas".
