Trump takes aim at McConnell and Obama on Twitter while on vacation

Speaking at a Rotary Club gathering in Kentucky on Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell vented about how President Donald Trump's lack of political experience has led to him setting "excessive expectations" for legislative priorities.

This is the first year Republicans have been in a position to scuttle Obama's law because they control the White House and Congress, making last month's crash of their bill acutely painful for the party.

That followed a Tweet directed at McConnell on the same topic earlier in the day.

A White House aide took shots at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's handling of the healthcare fight on Twitter. "I think he had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process".

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Republican, on Thursday defended McConnell on Fox News.

The social-media director, Dan Scavino, shot back Wednesday, tweeting that Congress' slowness was on McConnell's shoulders.

Terror probe opened into Eiffel Tower incident
Security forces have been attacked several times this year at tourist sites in Paris, which they patrol intensively. Sources told RFI that the unidentified man shouted "Allahu Akbar" - "God is great" in Arabic - during the incident .

Presidents have certainly butted heads with their own parties in the past, but this is debatably the most petty and weird behavior we've seen from the White House in the modern era.

Krueger said McConnell was likely to come out on top, given the Senate's more stable structure and the rules of the federal government.

Trump mentioned dealing with Congress a few times throughout his 2016 presidential campaign, including saying "you have to get everybody in a room, and you have to get them to agree" at an ABC News debate in New Hampshire in February. If the ACA were to be repealed without a replacement, 32 million people would lose health insurance, according to the congressional budget office. Tensions over North Korea's advancements to its nuclear program have been escalating, fueled in part by Trump's off-the-cuff remarks that North Korea "will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen".

President Trump on Thursday continued his criticism of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for failing to repeal and replace Obamacare-even after seven years of promising to do so.

A massive tax reform package should have been done by now, based on Trump's initial timetable, and an infrastructure package should have been on the way.
