Samsung Bixby voice feature expands to 200 countries

The delay appeared to be linked to numerous reviews that found the AI appeared to struggle with natural language voice commands.

However, Bixby, which was unveiled earlier this year by Samsung, is now available in more than 200 countries and recognizes U.S. English and Korean. "In the future, Bixby will have the learning power to offer more intelligent and personalized interactions and seamless connections across more devices". For example, saying "good night" could prompt the phone to enable do-not-disturb mode, set an alarm and turn on the Galaxy S8's blue light filter. In an interview with CNBC, mobile division chief DJ Koh has confirmed that his company is working on a smart speaker.

German economy, Europe's largest, posts 0.6 pct 2Q growth
Germany's growth performance did little to alter the path of the euro, which has moved tentatively lower since the beginning of August.

Samsung plans to continue expanding Bixby's voice capabilities to additional countries, languages, devices, features and third-party applications. A smart speaker would certainly be one device that users could take advantage of, so it will be interesting to see what Samsung creates. However, the feature was later added to Korean and US English, in May and July, respectively. The capabilities of the interface might vary according to a user's country or service provider, Samsung said. This can be done by visiting Galaxy Apps, tapping the ellipsis (...) in the top right corner, choosing "update" and tapping the update icon on the Bixby-related apps/services. However, this is the first time when Samsung has outrightly confirmed the existence of such device and also confirmed its arrival.
