Preliminary results from LaFontaine-Greywind autopsy turned over to investigators

The body of a 22-year-old woman, who was eight months pregnant, was found on Sunday in a North Dakota river wrapped in plastic. Her body was found in the Red River north of Fargo Sunday night. Police responded and found the body, wrapped in plastic and duct taped, stuck against a tree sticking out of the water in the middle of the river.

The Fargo Police Department says it is unable to release the specific details of Greywind's death or the manner in which her baby was born. Todd says law enforcement began focusing their search on that farmstead after some "suspicious items" were found there, but he declined to reveal what those items were.

The tragic discovery of her remains comes just days after her newborn baby girl was found alive in the home of the suspected kidnappers, who are now suspects in Greywind's murder.

When questioned by the police, Hoehn and Crews reportedly gave information that led investigators to believe that the baby belonged to LaFontaine-Greywind.

Todd said the family has been notified.

Hoehn and Crews were both charged with class A felony conspiracy to commit kidnapping before Greywind's body was discovered.

Their court-appointed attorneys, Stormy Vickers for Hoehn and Monty Mertz for Crews, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The couple was being held on $2 million bail and did not enter a plea in court Monday.

According to KVRR, Greywind did not know the neighbors well.
