Manchester City make shock Jonny Evans bid

Former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans could be heading back to the city, claims BBC Sport, but it's Manchester City who are wooing him.

Evans has two years left to run on his contract at The Hawthorns and has made 65 appearances for the club.

He is comfortable with the ball at his feet - a major asset in any Guardiola team - and plays on the left side defence where City don't now have a natural fit.

Guardiola is in the market for defensive reinforcements this summer as the Spaniard attempts to challenge for the Premier League title and improve upon last season's third place finish. And if the exclusive report from Telegraph is anything to go by, there has been another one, with Manchester City lodging a surprise £18 million bid for former Manchester United man Jonny Evans, a bid which was swiftly rejected by West Bromwich Albion.

Maduro said، however، that he had instructed his foreign minister to try to set up a one-on-one meeting between him and Trump. Since April 1, more than 120 people have been killed in protest's against Maduro's government.

Interestingly, the need to sign Evans has arisen from Guardiola's intent at securing his back four, in hopes of alleviating some pressure from captain Vincent Company. That leaves youngster Tosin Adarabioyo as an alternative and while the academy product is highly rated, he is still relatively raw and needs to be eased into first-team experience.

City have been concerned about interest from Paris Saint-Germain in both Alexis and Mbappe, though sources at the French club have told Goal France that they will not pursue a move for the latter this summer. There is no way I would have allowed Jonny Evans to leave this football club.

It has been said that the Baggies have rejected a bid from Leicester City for the defender, but an offer of £25 million (R424 million) from City might be too hard to turn down.
