Leader asks new Rouhani govt

In the decree, Ayatollah Khamenei said he endorses people's vote and pronounce "the respected scientist Dr. Hassan Rouhani" as Iran's president.

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday endorsed a second term for Hassan Rouhani as the country's President.

The solemn inauguration ceremony of the re-elected Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will be held on August 5.

Mr Rouhani will be sworn in on Saturday and will have two weeks to present his cabinet to parliament for a vote of confidence.

Social jusctice and poverty alleviation are among main ideals of the Islamic Establishment, said Rouhani while noting the main axis and achievements of his government, underlining that total reduction of absolute poverty is a major goal for the 12th government.

Rouhani vowed to end poverty and create more jobs for the citizens.
