Trump Jr., Manafort not to testify publicly

President Donald Trump's former campaign manager - has been subpoenaed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, according to a joint press release from Sens.

"Mr. Manafort, through his attorney, said that he would be willing to provide only a single transcribed interview to Congress, which would not be available to the Judiciary Committee members or staff".

As he prepares to speak with Congressional intelligence committee this week as part of their Russian Federation probes, Donald Trump Jr. has added another lawyer to his legal team, ABC News and Reuters reported on Sunday. Manafort has become a central figure, as investigators look into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation in part because of Manafort's extensive pro-Russia connections.

Manafort also turned over his contemporaneous notes documenting the meeting, one said. White House senior adviser Jared Kushner speaks to reporters outside the White House in Washington, Monday, July 24, 2017, after meeting on Capitol Hill behind closed doors with the Senate Intelligence Committee on. But such an interview would not "prejudice the committee's right to compel his testimony in the future", they said.

The House Intelligence Committee says it will meet with Kushner on Tuesday, a day after a private meeting scheduled with the Senate Intelligence Committee. The meeting was set up after Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son, was offered compromising information as part of Russian Federation and its government's support for his father's campaign, according to emails that the younger Trump released. Tomorrow, Senate Judiciary Committee members will have an opportunity to probe Manafort on questions about the meeting, in public view.

In the statement for the two committees, Kushner provided for the first time his recollection of a meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer who was said to have damaging information about Trump's Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton. Democrats took over funding for Steele's project after Trump won the Republican nomination.

Kushner, meanwhile, also confirmed earlier media reports that he had suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities to set up secure communications between Trump adviser Michael Flynn, who would become Trump's national security adviser, and Russian officials.

It said he was likely to be questioned about a June 2016 meeting in NY with a Russian lawyer.
