Barbara Sinatra dead: Wife of singer Frank Sinatra dies aged 90

Barbara Sinatra, the fourth wife of singer Frank Sinatra, died on Tuesday at the age of 90, her representative said.

Before marrying Frank Sinatra, Barbara Sinatra worked as a model and Las Vegas showgirl.

Jamie Kabler, a longtime family friend of Sinatra, told USA Today a funeral will be held on August 1.

She had a successful modeling career after she graduated from the school.

Barbara is survived by her son from a previous marriage to Robert Oliver Marx, his wife Hillary Roberts and her granddaughter Carina Blakeley Marx.

Barbara's marriage to Sinatra in 1976 was her third marriage.

The spokesman, in an official release from the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center, said she died of natural causes and was surrounded by friends and family at the time of her death.

She remained active at the center until recently, pushing for creation of the video program just past year and making sure the children had anything they needed, Thoresen said.

She founded the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center to help children who were victims of abuse. "You worry about new ones, '" Sinatra said.

She used her fame for massive charity efforts, including founding the Barbara Sinatra Children's Centre in 1986, which provides support and counselling for abused children. "There are several child advocacy centers like it around the country, (but) this one is probably most recognized".
