2 militants shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, counter-operation underway

Protesters have clashed with Forces following the encounter.

The forces launched a cordon and search operation in Tahab after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a police official told Kashmir Reader on Sunday. One Official said that one of the six was hit by a bullet in his shoulder and other five have minor injuries.

Reports said a trooper was wounded in the standoff and he was immediately removed to hospital.

Internet services have also been snapped in Pulwama district.

"The situation is under control, initial reports indicate that they (militates) are from Hizb-ul-Mujahideen", said Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid. An SLR and an INSAS rifle has been recovered from the spot, ANI reported.
