Vehicle veers off road towards pedestrians on London Bridge

The BBC earlier reported that "more than one" death in a terrorist attack after a vehicle hit several pedestrians on London Bridge.

The British police have reportedly stated they are dealing with the incident at London Bridge but did not provide any further details.

Describing what appeared to be canisters strapped to the man's chest, he said: "The first sight at thought it wasn't anything real, it didn't look real to me but I'm not like the person who could honestly say if they were real or not because I have no experience".

Back in March, a single, lone-wolf attacker plowed through scores of pedestrians on Westminster Bridge in a rented vehicle, before being killed by authorities. The Metropolitan Police head of counter-terrorism, Mark Rowley, said police believe all of the attackers were killed, but investigations are underway to ensure there are no more. Armed officers responded and shots were been fired, police said.

Other armed police officers made their way quickly to bars and restaurants in the area, including Borough Market, telling people to "get down".

The two acts are being treated as terrorism incidents, according to Metropolitan Police.

"We are responding to an incident alongside other emergency services at London Bridge".

England has been under heightened alert since a bomb was detonated at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester nearly two weeks ago, killing 22 and wounding more than 100 as they left the venue.

Both lanes of the bridge were blocked, police said.

The attack came on the eve of a benefit concert Grande is scheduled to play in Manchester on Sunday in aid of the victims and their families.
