Mrs Trump had remained in NY, staying in Trump Tower, for the first five months of her husband's presidency so that their son, Barron, 11, could finish out the school year.

She had stayed in Trump Tower after Donald Trump's inauguration in January so that their son Barron could complete his school.

The first lady is looking forward to the memories in her new home.

There have been more awkward moments between Melania Trump and her family.

Arguably, her biggest public outing came last month when she and Trump visited the Middle East and Europe on a trip that the White House later praised as a resounding success.

The only reason for living separately was the school of Barron Trump, Melania insisted the teenager should finish the school year in NY.

The first lady has said she wishes he would give up tweeting.

First ladies are also seen as calming influences on presidents.
