John Oliver blasts Donald Trump for Comey firing

On Sunday's episode of "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver", the outspoken host/comedian dedicated almost 10 minutes of his show calling bullshit - or, more accurately, "turbo bullshit" - on Trump's firing of FBI Director James "Showboat" Comey.

Following news that Bill English, the Prime Minister of New Zealand - or "wallaby f**k island", as Oliver prefers to call it - didn't find the comedic stylings of the Last Week Tonight host that amusing, Oliver hit back.

Oliver also slammed the "genuinely weird" termination letter as well as the following week of "confusing and contradicting" explanations that were ultimately blown up by Trump's interview with NBC's Lester Holt on Thursday.

After reading out Trump's letter - "while I greatly appreciate your informing me on three separate occasions I am not under investigation" - Oliver commented on how suspicious the President seemed attempting to put words into Comey's mouth.

Don't call me Caitlyn: Baby name plunges in popularity

Oliver gave his own summary of the back-and-forth that could have occurred between Comey and Trump and expressed that it's almost impossible for Trump to surprise him at this point.

"I was thinking of the Russian Federation investigation when I fired Comey is the one thing that you are not supposed to say out loud", said Oliver is disbelief. "If you said he did it because Comey is 6'8" and Trump feels like a tiny little man standing next to him, I would believe you. It was me! Lock me up! It's the kind of response that makes you ask three questions. "And it's entirely possible the answers to all three questions are yes".

Oliver then listed off numerous ways the Trump administration has attempted to dismiss any accusations; until the President admitted on Television he was going to fire Comey without talking to his team. "Apparently, no part of P90X targets the backbone", he adds, taking a dig at Ryan's fitness regimen. "It's on you. Because when you've got the presidential equivalent of a 5 year old shitting on the salad bar of a Ruby Tuesday, at some point, you stop blaming the five-year-old and you start blaming the people who are not stopping him".

"I think I speak on behalf of all humanity when I say, no!"
