Diego Simeone has confirmed he will be in charge of Atletico Madrid next season, ending speculation about his future at the La Liga side.

But what could be a reason to smile, is that Diego Simeone, has promised to remain with the club despite links to teams like Inter Milan.

"We're finishing the season and I'm sure that, on Monday, Miguel, Andrea and I will meet to look at what we can expect in the future and of course to look for what the best would be for the club and for everyone", he told a news conference.

"I am going to stay because this club has a future and the future is all of us together". I think all footballers know what I am talking about.

After the match, Simeone addressed the crowd with an emotional message while players from both past and present made their way onto the pitch and posed with every trophy the club has ever won. "Because this club has a future and that future is all of us", he announced in a post-match speech.
