Trump says 'I like Steve' Bannon; won't definitively say he has confidence

Is President Donald Trump finished with self-declared white nationalist - and others say white supremacist - chief political adviser Stephen K. Bannon?

In his comments to Goodwin, Trump also nodded to the tensions that exist in the White House and appeared to place the onus on Bannon to make things right - or else. The Freedom Caucus, a hardline conservative faction of the House of Representatives that some say were responsible for sinking the bill, was reportedly put off by Bannon's dictatorial tone when he told them they had "no choice" but to vote for the AHCA.

"I told them to straighten it out or I will", the president said to Goodwin, echoing similar words published Friday night.

In an interview with the New York Post, Trump was asked about infighting among top members of his administration in which Bannon is said to be a center figure. The two have drastically different styles and philosophies ― Bannon is an ideological crusader who wants a "deconstruction of the administrative state", while Kushner, until recently, was a Democrat. Bossie had his own set of contacts in the Republican donor and media world, from Bannon to the big-donor Mercer family of NY to Corey Lewandowski, Trump's first campaign manager, who Bossie reportedly introduced to Trump in 2014. The removal of Kathleen McFarland from the role of deputy national security adviser showed the growing influence of HR McMaster, the national security adviser who replaced Michael Flynn.

"He knows the region, knows the people, knows the players", Trump said in an interview.

Last week, Trump removed Bannon from the National Security Council, while Powell appears to be ascendant. Bannon was with President Donald Trump on his return trip from Florida. Behind the news headlines and shifting political tectonic plates, factions within the White House still threaten to undermine a rare period of clear leadership. Kushner has been credited as one of the key drivers behind his father-in-law's presidential campaign.

After the chemical weapons strike in Syria, by President Bashar al-Assad, President Donald Trump responded by launching 59 tomahawk missiles.

Republicans run the risk of losing The House in 2018 if Bannon, Priebus and Conway are gone from Trump's Administration.

Trump's former campaign chairman's foreign consulting work has become a headache for the White House. "@BreitbartNews", Trump tweeted on November 2, alerting his followers to the interview. Get in line or get out, Trump is not so subtly telling Bannon. No president uses one press secretary for his entire presidency.

For years, Bannon made his money in Hollywood. "I am certain he thought he would win", a source told NPR last summer.
