'To prevent and deter': Trump's statement on Syria strike in full

The White House has released a photograph of the officials who were gathered in a room Thursday night at Mar-a-Lago when President Donald Trump's national security team briefed him on the USA air strike in Syria.

This April 4, 2017, photo provided by the Syrian anti-government activist group Edlib Media Center shows a man carrying a child following a suspected chemical attack at a makeshift hospital in the town of Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib province, Syria.

Announcing the assault from his Florida resort, Trump said there was no doubt Syrian President Bashar Assad was responsible for the chemical attack, which he said employed banned gases and killed dozens.

"Either Russia has been complicit or Russia has been simply incompetent in its ability to deliver on its end of the agreement", Tillerson said. Tonight I ordered a targeted military strike on the airfield in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched.

Robert Gsellman came in to pitch the ninth and allowed back-to-back hits to begin the inning. Both players are good pitchers though Syndergaard is no doubt the flashier of the two.

Trump's decision of taking the first major military action since he became the president was taken in a meeting with his national security team, before his dinner with the Chinese president in Mar-a-Lago on Thursday. The U.S. used that line to warn Russian Federation of the airstrike. We ask for God's wisdom as we face the challenge of our very troubled world. We pray for the lives of the wounded and for the souls of those who passed.

"In acting as it has, the United States serves as an example to the entire free world, which must support any step required to bring the atrocities in Syria to an end", Rivlin added. "...The US and the Russian government entered into agreements whereby Russia would locate these weapons, secure these weapons and destroy these weapons. They would act as the guarantor that these weapons would no longer be present in Syria", he said.

The U.S. says a sarin-like nerve agent was used. A year later, then-Secretary of State John Kerry said that Syria's chemical weapons were "100 percent" destroyed. "Therefore, it's important that some action be taken on behalf of the global community to make clear that these chemical weapons continue to be a violation of worldwide norms", Mr. Tillerson said.

Then-President Barack Obama developed a "red line" that warned Assad against further heinous action, but the USA did not directly inject itself into the military campaign.
