R. Kelly sued for having an affair with government official's wife

A MS man is suing R&B singer R. Kelly.

In the lawsuit, Hinds County Deputy Kenny Bryant claimed that he had suffered "emotional, psychological and financial loss" due to the actions of the "Ignition" singer.

Though Childress claimed to have ended the romance after saying "I do", Bryant believes the affair rekindled when his wife attended an R. Kelly concert in October 2012. Then, Bryant's wife allegedly convinced him to quit his job in MS and move to Atlanta-not so that he could further his career as she said, but so that she could keep doin' it with R. Kelly.

Bryant's attorney Anna Powers told Gulf News that R. Kelly was served with the lawsuit on Saturday when he performed in Jackson.

While this lawsuit sounds outrageous, it could be winnable in the state of Mississippi.

Eventually, Childress asked for a divorce for which Bryant blamed R. Kelly's "blatant disregard for Bryant's and Childress's vows".

The All-Star Game is traditionally played in February, preceded by a 3-point shooting contest and a slam dunk contest. There is certainly a lot of intriguing layers to this situation, but more clarity should come over the offseason.

In the lawsuit, Bryant said he felt like he had been "cuckolded" a sexual term that describes a man who watches his lover have sex with another partner.

A rep for R. Kelly has not responded to media requests for comment, but Bryant definitely has some receipts, aka text messages, from Kelly to his wife.

"Each time R. Kelly would have a concert in a nearby state, Childress would disappear to reunite wit her love", the suit says.

"As a result of her adulterous relationship with R. Kelly, Childress endeavored to live a lifestyle that surpassed her economic abilities and convinced Bryant to aid her in living beyond her means", documents say.

The reason that all of this is in the courts, instead of in another chapter of "Trapped in the Closet", is that MS is one of only a few states where spouses can sue someone for breaking up their marriage.
