London attack victim stands on her own after broken leg

Nine days after the London terrorist attack that killed Bountiful resident Kurt Cochran and seriously injured Melissa, his wife of 25 years, Melissa's family has posted a photo of the progress she is making toward healing.

A second picture shows her standing with the help of crutches, with the caption: "Getting stronger every day".

"Talking with loved ones at home is some of the best medicine", reads another post with an image of Cochran smiling and talking on the phone in her hospital bed.

Melissa & Kurt were victims in the London terror attack on March 22, 2017.

The couple had been celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in London when they sustained multiple injuries in Khalid Masood's lethal attack, which left five dead, including police officer Keith Palmer.

Melissa's brother Clint Payne said: "Her health is steadily improving and she has been strengthened by the presence of her family".

He added: "She is so grateful for the outpouring of love and generosity". It was their last day of a trip to visit Melissa's parents who are serving as missionaries in the London LDS temple.

'So many people have been so kind, and we are deeply touched by their goodness and generosity.

Her brother, Clint Payne, published photos of the 46-year-old in hospital as her treatment continues. "He was an fantastic individual who loved everyone and tried to make the world a better place".

They were among the first hit by the vehicle on the Westminster bridge. The 52-year-old then crashed the auto into the gates of Parliament and fatally stabbed police officer Keith Palmer.

Kurt Cochran died at the scene on the bridge. Masood was shot moments after the attack and later died.
