Conte sets Chelsea 18-point title target

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said his side had taken a "big step" towards the Premier League title after beating Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

"I worked very hard for that one opportunity and within the conditions that we available to me". We want to finish top. "Okay, he made a mistake with the goal but everyone is involved in this team and we are lucky to have him in the team".

"It was huge going into Man City, it takes the pressure off".

"I don't know if the way we played was attractive but the most important thing is to win games", the Belgian added.

Conte is working on the assumption Tottenham will win all of their eight remaining games, so Chelsea must claim 18 points, or six wins from their final eight league games.

"I know this manager was in Greece [with Olympiacos] and we played in the Champions League when I was at Bayern Munich", he added.

Chelsea's place in the top four is surely secure, with Antonio Conte's side now leading the way in the Premier League.
