Christoph Metzelder: Real Madrid Fears Bayern Munich

Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 100th European goal on Wednesday to give holders Real Madrid a 2-1 comeback win at 10-man Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final, first-leg.

The attack in Dortmund forced their Champions League quarter-final, first-leg, against Monaco in Dortmund to be postponed until today at 1845 (1645 GMT) with the Bayern-Real game to start at 2045 in Munich.

Striker Robert Lewandowski missed Monday's session, instead training individually after taking a knock to his right shoulder on Saturday in the defeat of Dortmund.

"It will be master against pupil for sure", Zidane said after the draw was made.

"He trained today only for 20 minutes because he had a problem in his last game. We are all looking forward to these games - both my friends at Bayern Munich and I", the Germany global told the official Real Madrid website.

"If he has no pain he will play, if he has pain, he won't play".

Real Madrid took control in the second half and emerged 2-1 winners thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo brace. "We know how important he is, but it won't change our self-confidence".

"Whether Lewandowski plays or not won't affect our strategy or our confidence for the game".

Winger Arjen Robben said the German champions were not nervous about the prospect of losing their star goalscorer.

A player to keep an eye on in this first leg is Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid. "He brought positivity when he arrived and took us in a new direction", Kroos said. It's two good teams coming up against each other and that's all there is to it.

Real's Germany midfielder Toni Kroos hopes Lewandowski is fit to play. "But I'm happy with the substitution and with Marco Asensio's performance".

"Both regularly feature in Forbes" list of the most valuable sports teams - Real were rated the richest football club past year, with Bayern fourth - but there is a difference in philosophies at the heart of each side.
