KPCC Chief VM Sudheeran Steps Down Due to 'Health Reasons'

Kerala's Congress chief V M Sudheeran resigned on Friday citing health reasons.

"The biggest drawback in the party today is that, even though there are capable leaders, there is not a single leader who has the stature and who enjoys the respectability of all Congressmen", another leader said. No immediate announcement is expected since party president Sonia Gandhi is reportedly out of the country.

Former Speaker and health minister Sudheeran was injured in a recent accident at Kozhikode. "Doctors said a complete recovery may take a few months. It will take prolonged treatment and hence I was convinced that I can not carry out my duty as KPCC president to its fullest sense", said Sudheeran.

"In politics, being realistic in decision making process is very crucial and gone are the times when the national leadership could thrust their decisions on state units. It is the time to lead people's agitations". Let new people come again, he said. Reportedly, some A Group members had issued threats of an en masse resignation, if the party is not ready to remove Sudheeran.

Patriots acquire Dwayne Allen from Colts
In five years with the Colts, Allen played in 57 games (starting 56) and caught 126 passes for 1,451 yards and 19 touchdowns. Patriots head coach and GM Bill Belichick jumped at the chance to potentially fleece new Colts personnel man Chris Ballard.

Honduras, the victor of January's Copa Centroamericana are seeded in Group A and will face Costa Rica, French Guiana and Canada. If the Americans win Group B or finish second, they would advance to a quarterfinal doubleheader on July 19 in Philadelphia.

Sudheeran had taken over as the state Congress chief in February 2014 as part of the central leadership's efforts to bring in a truce in the wake of recurring factional feuds in the party.

As the day wore on, it became apparent that he had hinted about his decision to Ramesh Chennithala, Opposition leader in the State Assembly. But they failed, thanks to Rahul's support to Sudheeran.

It is not certain as to who will be the next KPCC president. Also, Sudheeran took a stern stand when corruption charges were surfaced against the ministers in the Congress Government. Chandy has been sulking since the Assembly elections. But Chandy may eventually get the job.
