Over 70 arrested at Dakota Access Pipeline protest site, camp cleared

On its official Facebook page, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe said Tuesday's announcement was "disappointing", but "unfortunately not surprising".

Cramer, R-North Dakota, said he received word that the US Army Corps will grant final approval and that Congressional notification of the decision was "imminent". Almost all that's left to build is a small stretch under the Missouri River, near the Standing Rock Sioux reservation.

Energy Transfer Partners, the Dallas-based company funding the project, says it will bring millions of dollars into local economies and create an estimated 8,000 to 12,000 construction jobs.

"The Assistant Secretary for the Army Civil Works will make a decision on the pipeline once a full review and analysis is completed in accordance with the directive", the Corps said in a statement.

Hoeven's statement comes just one day after a government attorney told a federal judge that he could not provide an estimate of when the Army Corps would act on Trump's executive order.

Resident Evil 7 Players Have Collectively Played for Over 600 Years
Resident Evil 7 is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with full PlayStation VR and HTC Vive/Oculus Rift support. Capcom expect Resident Evil 7 to top 4 million sales by the end of the financial year (by the end of March).

The other six countries listed in the executive order are Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. The two countries have had no diplomatic relations since 1979 when militants stormed the US embassy.

"This change in course is arbitrary and without justification; the law requires that changes in agency positions be backed by new circumstances or new evidence, not simply by the President's whim", Archambault wrote in the letter to Trump. Maria Cantwell of Washington, Tom Udall of New Mexico, and Jon Tester Montana sent a letter to the Trump administration objecting to executive orders President Donald Trump signed okaying both the Keystone XL and DAPL pipelines.

The move does not mean easement to the tunnel under the Missouri River - the last remaining stretch of the pipeline in North Dakota to be built - has been granted.

December's reprieve proved to be a short victory for the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, whose reservation sits a half-mile from where the pipeline would cross, and for the thousands of activists who have protested at the Oceti Sakowin Camp in Cannon Ball, North Dakota. Crossing four states, it will transport up to 570,000 barrels of oil a day from North Dakota to refineries in IL. Hoeven said he also spoke with Vice President Mike Pence.

The 11 documents at issue discuss the amount of oil that would flow out if the pipeline ruptured in various places, according to court papers filed Wednesday evening by Dakota Access LLC.

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe said late Tuesday it will "vigorously" pursue legal action to ensure the environmental review is followed. The protesters were arrested Wednesday. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lacks statutory authority to issue the easement because it has committed to the EIS process. Their determination to stop the pipeline was evident over the months of protest that occurred since construction on the edge of the Standing Rock reservation began.
