Injustice 2 Story Trailer: Brainiac Re-Draws the Battle Lines


New DC characters will be joining the fray this time around, including Supergirl, Robin, Brainiac, and Poison Ivy.

Gods Among Us introduced video game fans to a darker vision of the DC Universe, where Superman became a vicious tyrant and most of the Justice League joined him in subjugating the Earth.

Superman and Batman just can't get over their differences. Big-name DC villians and heroes are all set to appear in the studio's follow-up to the 2013 original, and a new story trailer teases us with why: Superman's arch-nemesis Brainiac.

At the end, Darkseid is confirmed as a pre-order bonus character. 20 more characters are still to be revealed on the site, and one will be announced next week on January 24.

NetherRealm previously revealed that Injustice 2's roster will include mainstays such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Supergirl, as well as villains Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus and Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn and Deadshot. The trailer also reveals the game's ultimate villain, Brainiac, revealed to be the mysterious narrator who voices over the trailer.

While crafting the sequel's storyline, Ciancolo says the biggest challenge faced by the development team was "extending the Injustice narrative, without repeating ourselves". We'll surely learn more about that as the days leading to the game's release continue to tick by.
